Literature Text

I miss my night not beaten and crying
The darkness not tattered, the stars not dying
I miss my morning not ruined and charred
The sunlight not sickly, the sky not scarred
I miss my day not torn and forgotten
The brightness not broken, the clouds not rotten
It's life not abused, it's life not in pain
It's life not abandoned, it's life not insane
Not bleeding, not needing, not hiding, not pleading
A cycle of torture; the dawn is misleading.
I wrote this a long time ago, maybe a year or so, when I wasn't the most optomistic person this side of the Gulf Sea. But I still like it as a poem, even though there's no deep symbolism or anything. I think it's lyrically pleasing.
